Since becoming house manager of Chandos House in April this year I have been exceptionally busy with lots of fantastic new projects and plans being implemented and many more exciting ideas in the pipeline.

Not only is Chandos House an elegant and beautiful venue to enjoy a central London wedding but with our Christmas event plans already well under way it’s set to be the perfect place for a sophisticated and glamorous festive celebration.
Our fantastic in-house catering team provide outstanding, innovative catering whilst the event team at both Chandos House and One Wimpole Street will work together to ensure your event is flawless and stress free.

Outstanding continued AV investment

Over the past few months we have attracted a significantly broader market segment thanks to our continuous investment in outstanding audio visual (AV) equipment. Appealing to a wide variety of client bases and industry sectors, most notably the medical and financial sectors and we have noticed a dramatic increase in IT companies who are keen to benefit from our outstanding functionalities.

Forward thinking companies such as Future Foundation who selected One Wimpole Street because of the AV available said: “I’d like to say thank you, to yourself and the team, in particular Craig Wallace. The catering was great. The AV team were very helpful and accommodating. All in all, the staff at One Wimpole Street helped to ensure everything ran without a hitch!”

It is without doubt that clients embrace the outstanding AV that is available to them at one Wimpole Street as all standard in-room AV is included in the room hire, making it very cost effective. We pride ourselves by even including outstanding High Definition video projection in the room hire of the Main Lecture Theatre and Seminar Suite – offering our clients clear and effective displays and presentations to maximise the delivery of their event at no extra cost.

AV technology has become a critical element to the success of the majority of events and our in-house AV team work hard to maximise the value our equipment can offer to delegates.

Boosting Productivity…

 We are pleased to announce that we have had five interlinking nodes to boost mobile phone signal throughout the building implemented on the ground floor of One Wimpole Street. The service also improves 3G and has numerous benefits for delegates using function rooms for business meetings and corporate events.


As a forward thinking venue, we pride ourselves on being at the forefront of advanced technology and recognise that improved mobile phone and 3G connections will hugely increase the appeal to delegates as many conference and meeting venues do not offer good connectivity or charge a fee for the service. The communication network at One Wimpole Street enables our clients to stay connected and communicate with colleagues at their office whilst attending external meetings or conferences, in turn boosting their productivity.

 

 

 

Technology

We were delighted to welcome MacVideo Expo to One Wimpole Street in June for their series of meetings and conferences which required the use of our High Definition (HD) projector to display the latest in HD video editing software at its optimum resolution. MacVideo Expo have confirmed that they will be back in October for further meetings and conferences that they wish to host and we look forward to seeing them all again soon.

As well as offering outstanding HD projection technology, we are now using an iPad as touch panel audio visual control for our new Seminar suite. It is incredibly important to us that we offer the most up-to-date technology whilst ensuring usability is straight forward and hassle free by installing PC and Mac technology to give support to all our clients.

We have also recently refurbished our new member’s area which included expanding our digital signage using large LCD displays to update members with the latest RSM news and information. This is in addition to our existing digital signage for meeting information, client logo/info display at registration and meeting room entrances.

The Royal Society of Medicine is the biggest provider of CPD training for qualified doctors. Unexpected changes to our internal medical conference programme this autumn has created some availability in October.
